Push through the Crowds

I've recently been studying Mark 5 and the Lord has been revealing even more beautiful notes to me. I love how He never stops teaching me and wants to engage with me even deeper after knowing Him most of my life. This piece of text is one that I have studied often. In fact, this was the story we focused on during my MIL cancer journey AND we heard it taught at Motion 2024. So as I turned to this story yet again for my small group study, I didn't know what He would show me.

But He showed up. Again.

First, let me say that it was so amazing seeing Mark 5 taught through the whole text: the bleeding woman AND the officials daughter healed. I had only ever been taught it together one other time that I can recall. It's crazy too because you NEED to have them taught together to truly understand the significance of both healings.

But here is the part that got me:

The woman was at her end. She had tried it all. She was broken, hurt, an outcast and anything else you could label her. She was so broken that she risked it all to be healed because she knew that even something touching Jesus would heal her. So she pushed through the crowds. She was at her end and she physically needed the touch from the Savior. I can imagine that it was exhausting and terrifying but it was all that she had left.

But she had to get to that point. She had to get to the point of absolute exhaustion and brokenness to have the fullness of faith. She had to push through the crowds.

It's time for you to push through the crowds to get to Him and I don't mean physical crowds. I mean the crowd of exhaustion, burnout, worry, anxiety...fill in the blank. But sister, you're at your end. Quite honestly, we are always at our end because we need Him.

So push through the crowds to get to Him sister.
